Peter’s Deviation (vs11-14)
Something has gone terribly wrong with the application of Peter’s doctrine - When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. 12 Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group.

Peer pressure – compromise - hypocrisy.

The Law Cannot Justify – Anyone! (vs15-16)
We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
Human, man-made religion is worthless!
No merit of my own I claim, but wholly lean on Jesus name.

Dealing with Mr Legalist’s Objections (vs17-21)
If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin?
Is our moral responsibility weakened by the gospel that Paul preaches?
Mk 7:16-19 There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” 17 And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18 And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)
The requirements of the law were the death of me!
I have been crucified with Christ. (vs 20)
Thankfully it doesn’t end there – I live because Christ lives.

Conclusion
vs 20-21 I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
